Hi all,

I have just got a 6 week old German Shepherd, looking for some dog training classes, when the best time to start? and what the best way to start house training her?

Many thanks

Hi Mark,

Get her started as soon as she has completed her vaccinations. If you want to train with us then think about enrolling sooner rather than later as we are getting booked up.

As for house training - I suggest the best way is by using a crate and not paper. Paper only teaches her its ok to toilet in the house. Using a crate teaches her not only to hold herself but also to ask to be let out. Two birds with one stone springs to mind.

Also given the fact you have a GSD then plenty of socialisation will be needed, they are a timid breed and so need to build their confidence which can take some time.

Hope this helps

Gill
